I just learned that the trailer for The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (US version) is out. A few quick thoughts, (1) the filming locations were familiar, maybe, they used the same locations that were used in the original Swedish version, (2) the dragon tattoo of Lisbeth Salander in the Swedish looks more badass than in the US version, (3) both Lisbeth and Mikael Blomkvist look anorexic (LOL) in the US version (but that’s just me).
The film is going to be released on January here, so there’s still a lot of time for the non-Dragon Tattoo fans out there to both read the novel and watch the Swedish version. Be sure to do so before this hits out. I’m definitely sure that your mind will be blown by the author of the book, Stieg Larsson (again, why did you die so early?).

Anakata reminded me of Lisbeth Salander (one of the main characters in Stieg Larsson’s Millenium Trilogy). Both are Swedish, both are bad-mouthed, both ROCKS! Now, please excuse me, I still have around 50 pages left to read from the last book.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson
Dragon Tattoo is a really absorbing book. Mikael Blomkvist’s investigation (with the help of a very strange and anorexic Lisbeth Salander) on Harriet Vanger who’s presumed dead for almost half a century kept me busy for a little over 72 hours. The thrill that I felt when I watched the movie was recreated while I was reading it (especially on the part when Blomkvist and Salander discussed the killings of various women in the past which are all parodies of Biblical quotations). The thrill that I felt escalated to such great height that I even had to read the book beside my sleeping brother. LOL.
There were differences between the book and movie, but that’s fine with me. Both are commendable. I guess, it’s just inevitable that the moviemakers had to change things. But I think they should have focused just a little bit more with Blomkvist’s relationship with Erika Berger, his best friend, occasional lover, and co-owner of the Millennium magazie; and Cecila Vanger, one of the suspects in Harriet Vanger’s disappearance.
Undoubtedly, the part from the close of Harriet Vanger’s case to the end is better in the book.
