Unexpected Realizations

Running ahead of oneselfNOTE: This was originally written last night.

This day made me realize a lot of things. Things I didn’t expect, realizations I wished I never knew. But nevertheless, I’m thankful that I knew them. And I realized all of these just because of an incident… an incident where most of my blockmates’ real colors were revealed.

One of the things that I knew today is most of my blockmates are plastic. When you’re talking to them, they let you feel as if they are good friends, but when they only see your back, evil horns start to sprout from their heads. This was really evident during the incident that happened today. And by that time, I already suspected that some of my blockmates are doing that to me and all I had to do was to confirm it. True, enough, there are some who are doing that to me. I didn’t expect that, I don’t treat my classmates like trash. When we have something to do, let’s say a report, I’m the one who always sacrifice. I do the written report, the aduio visual presentation, and this and that. In other words, I’m spoon-feeding them.

Nowadays, it’s really hard to decide whom you’ll trust isn’t?

Some are calling me names, according to my source, it’s because I’m excelling in some of our subjects. Hell. What? God, ang babaw naman ng rason na yun! I don’t get it why they’re acting like that, they’re acting as if they’re grade schoolers! Actually, they always act like that, they’re acting like a mentally retarded child. Puhlease, I don’t give a damn to such people. There are other better things that I can waste my time with! They don’t deserve my precious time.

There are others who asks my friend who I am always with about our assignment in Statistics. They’re asking her why she’s not copying from me. F*ck! What they’re saying? So does that mean, if I have let my friend copy my work, then, they could just borrow it and have it duplicated? I guess, they’re too scared to ask directly from me. They know that I’m very mean. Haha. Besides, I won’t let them copy my assignment. As a matter of fact, I don’t even let my friend copy my assignment. I can teach them how to solve for the mean, and this, and that but I can’t let them copy from me. As for my friend, I teach him how to compute this and that, and never I have given the answers directly.

One more thing, this morning we had a report about Canada. I prepared an audio visual presentation for my blockmates (and because Feist is a Canadian, I used her song 1234 as its background music). I know that some would not appreciate it. Definitely, there would be some people who would not like it. But to announce to the whole class that our audio visual presentation is ugly? Hey, that’s different. They’re saying that most of the pictures in the AVP were used multiple times. I don’t know what made them think that. Can’t they just broaden their minds? The next time they’ll present an AVP I’ll shout to the whole class that their AVP is ridiculous!

But here is the stupidest thing, after our reporting we had a game, as a prize for the winner, we bought two packs of Choco-Mani, you know, those cheap chocolate bars filled with nuts that you can buy in sari-sari stores. My blockmates reacted that our prize is soooo cheap at walang kwenta. But right after the game, they were all clamoring for the soooo cheap at walang kwentang Choco-mani even though they’re not the winners. Again, they’re acting so childish.

They’re pissing me off and they’re getting into my nerves. Now, I don’t wonder anymore why I greet myself “Welcome back to hell.” when I arrive at school.

Wi-Fi

Haay. Naka dial-up lang ako sa bahay. Yung maingay. Yung eeeeeee grrrrrr eeeeee. Tapos failed, kaylangang ulitin ulit1.

Five of my high school friends invaded our home and abused our Internet connection via wi-fi. It all started back in Saturday, when I and some of my friends in high school (a few of them where the same people who invaded our home) played badminton. I did not play much and there was nothing special with it so I will not talk more about it. After we played, we went straight to a mall here in Pampanga, despite that something had blasted in Glorietta 2 the day before that which resulted to a big accident leaving the part of Glorietta 2 where the accident happened unusable, 11 dead, and 129 others injured2. As of the time of writing this, the investigators of the accident doubt that it was a cause of terrorism. They still don’t have a concrete evidence that it was a bomb or anything of that sort that set-off this disaster.

When we got there with all of the bags we were bringing, we expected the security guards to inspect us thoroughly. But we got inside without them inspecting our bags. Come on, they should do their job! They should inspect everybody and their baggages no matter what the gender, age, and how the patrons look like. You see, they were busy chatting with each other. Of course, they can talk freely but they should do what they’re supposed to do because they’re being paid.

We strolled around the mall and ended up in Greenwich. It has been ages since I last ate there. I ordered Lasagna Supreme. Their lasagna is really great and it’s still included in the list of my favorite foods. On that same day, I bought a wireless router. Our phone line is busted yet again for the nth time. We have a temporary line in our dinning room, but I really hate surfing the Internet there because I don’t have any privacy so I bought one.

I have successfully set up the router in no time. But it took me a day to set up the network in our home. Figuring the firewall rules on my Windows Vista and on the old computer’s Windows XP turned my brain into nuts. Setting the network was really hard.

And today, around noon, one of my friends IMed me that he wants to go here in our house and surf the Internet for his paper. He complained that the Internet fee in a local Internet cafe was expensive. I had only less that 30 minutes to prepare myself. He brought with him his notebook so we were able to browse the Internet at the same time. We also had a good time chatting. We watched the funny videos produced by Christine AKA Happy Slip via YouTube, laughed at the stupid answer of Miss Teen USA South Carolina 2007 to her question, shared with him some of the programs that I use, and he told me that he left his orgmates from UP who were in his house3. Lol.

And then, another friend texted me, she wants to go here in our house to browse the Internet too. But she was not alone when she got here. She was with three of our high school classmates. Ah, I miss my high school classmates. I miss the way they make me laugh. I miss laughing with them with almost anything we see, hear or read. I miss our bonding. I miss high school. I miss our stupidity.

Nevertheless, I had a good time with them and I really hope that I’ll meet most of my high school friends this semester no matter if there is an available wireless connection or not. What I am after is to see them and talk with them again like there’s no tomorrow. Currently, I have seen eight out of 47 high school classmates this sembreak.

Excessive Marathons

Look! An update, but this does not mean that I’m not in hiatus mode anymore, unless I’ll have other things to say in the coming days.

Two days ago, I and some friends (from high school and grade school) played badminton at a local court. As usual, I’m the one who waited for the others to arrive. No matter how I procrastinate, I still end up waiting. And that’s frustrating me!

By noon, we were all at a local branch of McDonald’s and as most of us haven’t ate lunch, we decided to eat first. After an hour, we we’re already playing. The entrance fee was cheap: PHP 50.00, until you drop. The thing is, I’m neither a badminton enthusiast nor a sports aficionado. I’m no good at any sports. It’s just so ironic to me that I was there. Still, I played: I won in some games, I lost in most games. Lol! Nevertheless, I had a great time.

While catching our breath, we ridiculed our teachers back in high school, here are a few examples that made us laugh once again.

  • Pagtrabayuhin
  • Kumbintu
  • “Is zero an odd number?”
  • *Teacher tries to spell the word ‘ghost’* G-O-S-T “Kulang po ng ‘H’.” G-O-S-H. Gosh! Wooohoo!
  • “Okay, I’ll call you in random.” (I thought to myself: “Cool! He knows the word ‘random’!”) Well, our teacher called us alphabetically. Do you call that random?
  • One of our teachers mispronounced “gauge” as “goose.” He gave us a weak alibi: “Sorry, malabo yung photocopy ko.” All of our copies were clear!

Two days after our badminton session, my body still aches. I’m having a hard time moving. But I’m still looking forward to our next badminton session next week.

*****

I’m also having Heroes and Grey’s Anatomy marathons. These two programs are great. Way to go, Tim Kring and Shonda Rhimes!

As for Amazing Race, I didn’t expect that Eric and Danielle will win. As usual, the last roadblock was hard. Nevertheless, congratulations to them!

Sorry for this lame entry.

Center of distraction

I know that nobody likes her… well, except of her boyfriend.

Alas, she’s one of my group mates in one of my laboratory subjects.

I’m the leader by unanimous decision.

She wants to do everything… the experiment itself and the guide questions. It’s as if she was the leader.

The worst part was that what she knew was wrong. Most of the time, her answers were wrong. She does not even know what to do in the experiment.

I corrected her but she does not like to take criticisms and such so she made it look like I was the one who was wrong.

She asked me to take a look on others’ results (I’m not saying that I’m a cheater) but I won’t let the others to copy ours.

She wants to be on the limelight but then, she is not doing the right thing to be on that place. She does not deserve to be on that place!

She is getting into my nerves, really!

She is stupid!

She is the center of distraction! Lol!

Torture or no torture?

I sacrificed The Amazing Race (we don’t have AXN) just to watch Kapamilya Deal or No Deal. Well, it worth it, lol, if it’s not for it, I would be not updating my blog tonight.

Here’s a recap of tonight’s episode…

I don’t really know what happened at first but it looks like the contestant borrowed the necklace of his cousin’s. And after the first round (or was it the second?), Kris Aquino, the ever tactless host of the show commented that the necklace was not a lucky charm for him so Kris forced the contestant to hand back the necklace. But after another round, it turned out to be as bad as the previous one as two briefcases (not sure) that hold big amounts were revealed.

So Kris asked the contestant and his cousin to exchange with one another their tops as it Kris believed that it might help the contestant to get the luck that he needed. Well, of course, this was done during the commercial break. At first the two guys were reluctant but they submitted to Kris’ suggestion in the end.

After the commercial break, the cordless phone rang up again which Kris and the banker use to communicate with one another. As the banker had already gave his offer just before Kris called for a commercial break, Kris was shocked. The banker reported the cousin of the contestant to Kris. You see, the banker can hear everything from as all the microphones are connected to his panel. During the commercial break the contestant’s cousin said something like:

Ang ganda ng pasok niya kanina, tapos sinira ni Kris (His start was good but Kris somehow interfered with it).

Actually, the part where the kins of the contestant talked about Kris destroying their kin’s good performance was even showed.

Well, of course, the queen of tactless was surprised. I think she felt embarrassed which made her agitated to the cousin of the contestant and it also made the offer of the banker to sunk a little lower.

It was Kris’ turn to embarrass… she let the contestant’s cousin to choose a briefcase, and alas, the briefcase contained PHP 100000.00. And do you know what Kris did? She laughed (hahahaha) very hard! Whoa… it was so embarrassing for the contestant’s cousin and it was even televised nationwide! But that did not stop there, the banker asked the contestant to choose from two offers, a lower one and his cousin would stay in the studio or a higher offer but his cousin has to step out of the studio. The contestant chose the latter, what the?! And Kris said “Bye” to the poor lad with matching hand gesture to show the way out! Well, the contestant’s cousin also liked the latter option…

But wait, that does not end there! Every time the banker had the opportunity, he showed the contestant’s cousin on the screen being filmed on the hallway. He was showed after every round. It even looked like that the cops where looking for that guy as above him was the banker’s offer. Just add the word “wanted” to complete the embarrassing moment! Mind you, I think that person was almost into tears!

He was only allowed to enter again after the contestant had won PHP 100000.00.

*****

Okay, I’m not taking sides…

At the very first place, if the cousin of the contestant did not say that stupid comment, he would not end with that most embarrassing moment of his life now! Is he not aware that he had a microphone that was directly connected to the banker’s panel and everything that he said and did were being recorded?

As for Kris and the banker, what they did was so rude! Can’t they imagine what would happen to that person after that? They made him like a puppet! It was really rude! And why did they have to broadcast and show it to the viewing public? Why they did not just talk with that person after taping that episode with no cameras and no microphones?

*****

Now, I won’t be surprised if the show’s ratings would gradually sunk. I would not be surprised if the contestant and his family would go and support the greatest rival of the network that broadcasts Kapamilya Deal or No Deal. I wouldn’t be surprised if this news is on this week’s top rumors. (I would not be surprised if James Yap is under.)

And to close this entry, let me quote the line Kris has said just before the credits rolled:

Wag kokontrahin ang buntis (Do not interfere with the pregnant)!

* I got the title from one of my high school classmates.
