Site-ender Entry

I suppose this is going to be my last post here. In two days time, I’ll be opening my brand new site. I’ll put here the ten most notable things that happened since I opened this site almost two years from now in order of occurrence.

  • I decided to use WordPress as my blogging software since manual blogging is very hard to maintain. Alas, my posts from February 2005 up to early March 2005 were all deleted because I messed up with my WordPress.
  • It was February 13, 2005 here in the Philippines when my grandfather from my mother side had died in the USA.
  • It was my first time to witness a conclave via news.
  • I ended up as the news editor of our school paper for two consecutive years.
  • July 2005, I ran for the Student Council but I did not win.
  • I and my classmates had our retreat back in January. Actually, it is exactly a year now.
  • On February 04 of this year, a big accident happened here in the Philippines. The Ultra stampede occurred back then.
  • March means graduation to me. Well, I landed as the first honorable mention of our batch (without exerting too much effort). I was also able to bag other awards. Oh, IÂ’m not bragging about them.
  • College is a bit freaky. And I hate it. CanÂ’t we just skip college?
  • The seventh of September marks my first serious encounter with death. My grandfather from my father side died. I miss my grandfather so much.

I’m supposed to search my database for the most longest comment, the comment author with the most comments, and the like but as I am very busy and tired because of watching, I can’t. Actually, I’m supposed to be reviewing right now for an exam tomorrow.

I will close all comment forms on January 07, as I want everything in my current database make it to my new home. To all those people who already know my link, kindly update my link. Thanks! However, to those people who wish to know my new link, just use the contact form bellow or post your comment.

Yearend Entry: 2006

I reckon this is my last post for this year as I’m very busy. I have not even finished doing Choice.

Here are the notable things that happen throughout the whole year!

  • I and my classmates had our retreat back in January. The place and food was so great. I really thought I would not enjoy our retreatÂ… and now, IÂ’m still savoring all of the things that we did there. If itÂ’s possible to have a part two (or even a part three) of our retreat, IÂ’ll join! Aww… I’m being nostalgic.
  • On February 04 of this year, a big accident happened here in the Philippines. The Ultra stampede occurred back then. It was the first anniversary of the number one noon time show in the country, Wowowee. Instead of 20 tricycles, some taxi cabs and two million pesos (about $40,000) of prizes at stake. Lives of many people were in danger.
  • I had my first (yeah, first) camping. It was a requirement for graduation. How stupid is that? Nevertheless, I enjoyed it.
  • March means graduation to me. Well, I landed as the first honorable mention of our batch (without exerting too much effort). I was also able to bag other awards. Oh, I’m not bragging about them. Habemus valedictorian! Can’t we have an another conclave?
  • College is a bit freaky. And I hate it. Can’t we just skip college? Haha. IÂ’m still in the “culture shock” mode; IÂ’m having a hard time doing some conversations with my new classmates.
  • The seventh of September marks the death of my grandfather. I miss my grandfather so much. (Please, stop me, I’m getting a bit teary.) I am so glad that I was able to had a grandparent like him. He was so generous to me. I could still remember during my pre-school years that he brings and gets me to school everyday and if there was a new toy available from one of the two biggest fast food chains in the country, he would bring me there and buy me the toy that I like.
  • I had my luckiest day this year back in November when I got PHP 50.00 worth of pre-paid load and PHP 125.00 in cash! My original plan last Friday was that I would only watch the quiz bee so as to support my blockmates and after it, I would go back home.
  • I got a new domain! (I sent e-mail to those people who regularly visit my site about it.)
  • I had my most boring Christmas. As for my birthday, it was not that good but not that bad too.
  • Starting tonight, we are — as how I like to call it — maid-less again.

This time, my favorite entries during the whole year:

Happy 2007 to everyone!

Bakklaang Dignity

We had our retreat in Hacienda Gracia, Lubao, Pampanga. The place is so cool and nice. There is a swimming pool, huts (where we eat), a cold conference room, dormitories, lots of rest rooms, hectars of land and very delicious food (breakfast, snacks, lunch, snacks and dinner). I love the place! The sessions we had are really mememorable. Some of my classmates cried, but me, no!

Mga Bakklaang Dignity, solid, astig, lufet ever!In one particular session, we affirmed each other. We’ve got to talk to all of our classmates. And yes, after that session, we were all tired, tired to talking. My jaws were aching! Try this: talk to 40 people with only a minute rest for every person. For sure, your jaws will be like lead after doing that. We also had this session where we made a sentence out of our favorite letters. And the sentence reads as: Mga bakklaang Dignity, solid, astig, lufet ever! (Bakla in the sense of being happy always.)

We were allowed to go swimming at night. No, I don’t know how to swim but I enjoyed it. On the second night, we were like swim-all-you-can. Lol. Some of my classmates were swimming until midnight. And our facilitators have to remove our morning praise so we can rest. My classmates are like bats! Lol! They don’t want to sleep! I was so tired that I’ve got to sleep. And yes, we were texting each other in the middle of the night! Lol! Cellphones are not allowed hu? Hehe. And most of my male classmates were all in the girls’ room. Lol. I also went there numerous times. Boys are outnumbered in our class. Thirteen boys versus 29 girls.

I really thought I will not enjoy our retreat… and now, I’m still savoring all of the things we did there. If it’s possible to have a part two (or even a part three) of our retreat, I’ll join!

And now, I think, I don’t want to graduate from high school but I can’t stop the time from ticking…

Thrilled?

Classes had just resumed in our school we had some lessons and we’ve got to do some assignments. But tomorrow, we will be having our retreat in Lubao, Pampanga. I can only get back online by the afternoon of January 6.

Cellphones are not allowed but I’m going to bring mine. Pasaway! But I’ve got to surender it to my advicer while we’re having our sessions. I’ll also bring our digicam so I can capture the moments and post some pictures here on my next update (after a scheduled post on January 6th, see last paragraph).

My teachers had already went to the place where we will be having our retreat and they are all saying that the place is nice and the food is delicious! Lol! They will be serving breakfast, snacks, lunch, snacks and dinner (no midnight snacks?). And my teachers are asking us to bring swimming attire! Lol! They told us that there is a swimming pool there and they will give us some time to swim. Not a very usual thing to do during a reatreat…

But I should tell you, I’m not excited! Dunno why… I think I’m not excited because the classmates that I had since grade school are not joining us. Don’t get me wrong, they will also have a retreat. The explanation is that those previous classmates of mine are in the other sections. We’ll have our retreat by section. Actually, I still have not packed my things. Nothing. I’ll go and fix my things this evening.

I remembered the batch before us, they had their retreat on our school. It’s supposed to be on Baguio but if you remember the meningococcemia virus, they were not able to have their retreat their. Lucky us, we’re having our retreat in a new environment.
