Catching Up

Sixteen days after my last update, at last, I have a new entry! Sorry for the unannounced hiatus. My blog went to hibernation because of school work. Only three weeks have passed since the second semester had started and I’m already tired. It seems that my professors’ favorite pastime is to give their students loads of assignments, researches, projects, reports and tests. So many deadlines, procrastination is my best friend. My only consolation is that I have a better schedule now, by dusk, I’m already home (except for Tuesdays) and I’ve got loads of break time (two and a half hours of break every Tuesdays and Thursdays and another extra hour every Tuesdays).

Yesterday, I had to go to the mall to get my invitation for the debut party that I’m going to attend on the very first day of December. The debutant is a grade school friend. Yeah, that’s how long I’ve known her. Some of my grade school friends (most are also my high school friends) were there to get their invitations. I didn’t expect that most of us are invited because we haven’t got in touch with her all these years, and if there is, only a little. The biggest surprise of all surprises is that the guy who we constantly linked with the debutant during our grade school days is also invited.

We’ve talked about so many things. We talked about the photo of the debutant in her invitation, we reacted that the photo was Photoshopped. And as my friends really love rumors (actually, most are facts but we still call them rumors), I knew that Friend A is now dating Previous Schoolmate-slash-Previous Classmate A (who’s studying aeronautics) again, Friend C had to stop studying, Friend D is now wearing braces whereas Friend E would have his braces removed sometime this week, Friend F shifted to another course, Friend G lost weight (whom I didn’t recognize until Friend D told me her name), Friend H’s suitor four years ago will be back here in the Philippines soon (he’s somewhere in North America right now, and from what I’ve heard, he’s in the military), and Previous Schoolmate B fathered a child. Ah, time flies so fast, and so many things happen in just a snap. I really miss my friends. I miss laughing hard just because of a small thing that others would not recognize as laughable. Laughing with my grade and high school friends is really different from laughing with my college friends.

As for me, aside from the fact that I’m busy with school, one of my blockmates had wet my clothes last Thursday (long story, and I don’t want to elaborate it), I’m reading “The Thirteenth Tale” by Diane Setterfield, enjoying my Statistics class, my Internet connection is not working (I’m on dial-up right now), Google Reader reports that I have 175 blog posts to read, hating my Literature subject because of my professor who talks very slow (we just finished the introduction), opened a new blog (I’ll be giving the link to a few selected ones), my cellphone started to show signs and symptoms that it’s going to die pretty soon, managed to lost my umbrella in school, and I now strongly believe that the weather reports here in the Philippines are not accurate.

Well, we spent our time mostly in talking (and laughing), we wanted to catch up with our latest experiences, and we’re craving to fill up the spaces that are still missing. But we had to stop because it was getting dark, one of us had other things to attend, while the others wanted to watch “One More Chance.” And because I don’t like watching Filipino movies (I think I have only seen three Filipino movies in the big screen during my 17 years of existence here on earth), I decided to go home1. I would rather pick a boring English movie than watch a corny Filipino flick.

I just hope during the debut of my friend, more spaces would be filled, that we’ll laugh so hard that we would look like rocking chairs, and we could plan an overnight party sometime during our Christmas vacation.

And if you’ve been following me in Twitter, you might perfectly know that one of my college friends is also inviting me to her debut party on the last day of November. Hell, two debut parties in two consecutive days! Euri says that I should attend both because debut parties = free food but debut parties = clothes + gifts to buy. And as of the moment, Christian = broke. Eek!

  1. Corny na kung corny pero corny talaga. Magulo ba? Sorry, pero nakokornihan at nababaduyan talaga ako sa mga Filipino movies, no offense []

Enchanted Excursion

Sorry for the lack of updates and I’m sorry that this one is pretty short.

Recently, I got addicted to Grey’s Anatomy. I’ve been downloading every single episode of the third season. And I really enjoy it. Currently, I’ve already finished the first 13 episodes, so please, no spoilers, eh? But there’s one thing I hate with it, the surgery scenes. I don’t like watching those scenes. Gross.

More recently to that, we had an unplanned trip down south. We went to Tagaytay City and went to EK. I’m glad that we went to Tagaytay, memories from my day trip with my classmates back in high school flooded my mind. It was my first time to go to EK, I thought that the place was good, but I was wrong. I find the park boring and small.

Well, I suppose, there will be less updates in this site for the next few weeks. There’s just nothing to write about and I’m missing so much things. I need to recollect myself.

Uh, yeah, I reckon, I need to use the “H” word… hiatus.

The ‘H’ word

What else?

HIATUS!

Well, I don’t know if I can call this as hiatus because even if I have time to write here, I find it too hard to express myself at the moment. I feel very frustrated with how I express myself lately. I’m already halfway writing an entry and then, I’ll not finish it and just mark it as draft or if I really don’t like it, I’ll just delete whatever I was typing. So, I hope I will be able to finish and publish this one!

I’m dead sure that I will not be able to update as regularly as I want. Another reason for this is because I’m pretty busy with school.

Prelims is already finished and I’m pleased with the results of my exams, especially in Math! Wooot! I just hope I’m still alive when this term has ended.

Currently, I’m reading Harper Lee’s “To Kill a Mockingbird”. Please don’t include spoilers on your comments as I’m still stocked at the first few pages of the book. I’m the only one who is allowed to post comments in this site. Lol!

Next time, I hope I can publish a more sensible entry than this. Urgh!

See you next time if there is a next time! Lol! I assure you one this, this is not my last post! It’s just I’m really busy at school! Oh, sorry if I’m not returning comments. But then again, I’m not obliged to return comments! Am I right or am I right? (Whatever!) I’ll return comments when I want and will only return comments to whom I want!

Alas or at last?

Last Thursday, we had our Commencement Exercises. We’re the seventh HS batch to graudate in our school. But before we had our Commencement Exercises, we had a thanksgiving mass last Tuesday to thank the Lord for guiding us along the way. Our graduation started at exactly four o’clock in the afternoon. Wherein I led the invocation after the porcession of the candidates for graduation. After which, the president of our school had her opening remarks, then followed by our valedictorian. I did not even care to listen. The awarding of certificates/medals followed. As you all know, I’m the First Honorable Mention of our batch. After I and my parents went down from the stage, we went up again to get my Loyalty Award. And again, we went up to the stage to get my other awards: Best in Mathematics, Best in Physics, Exemplary skills in written comunication (really?), Most dependable and reliable class officer (I can’t believe it), Ambassador of goodwill for having represented SLRCSS in the 2005 Division Schools Press Conference secondary level and having won 7th place in photojournalism, and Exemplary skills in desktop publishing and webpage design.

It’s only SLRCSS where I enrolled for the past 13 years. I don’t have an experience on transfering to another school and coping to the new environment. This is going to be the first time that I will have a new set of classmates. And I think I will have a hard time on coping witht the new ambiance when I officially stepped into college.

Obviously, our school is very young. I’m only a year older. I saw how our school grew. From a three-bedroom bungalow to a 3000+ square meters (yeah, it’s still small). And now, it’s PAASCU accredited. I was shocked when I heard this news. I did not expect that our school will be granted Level I status because I don’t find my teachers good enough.

Before the ceremonies ended, we sang Glowing Inside, Farewell and our senseless school hymn. Most of my classmates cried… but me… no! My adviser and some of our teachers are also crying. At long last we’re already HS graduates. But we still don’t have our diplomas. Stupid! They’ll give it during our cards out.

When we got home, there so many people. My grandparents, uncles, aunts, and even office mates of my parents — this is the first time that I felt that my parents are really proud of me. I was shocked because I found out that there’s a tarpaulin depicting my graduation picture. Yuck! But I’ll keeping it.

Uh, I suppose I shall call for a hiatus. But I’ll still be on line, I’ll do some tweaks here in my site. And I’ll make a new blog to know who’s not really reading! Haha!

A long stall

Yeah. This site will be in stall for a month. For short, hiatus. This is going to be my longest leave in the internet. So don’t expect me to be posting entries here until the 11th of the next month. I’m so busy at school… it’s the main reason and as you all know, I’m about to graduate from HS. I have to focus at my studies, especially now that we have so many things to do.

  • Offline annual (Computer) — Deadline: February 17
  • Two crocheted article (TLE) — Deadline: Two to three weeks from now
  • Wire resistance (Physics) — Deadline: February 20
  • Documentary (AP, Finals) — Deadline: February 28
  • Catering (Actual finals in TLE) — Dunno when we’ll have this
  • Go to UST — Sometime in March
  • Stories (Filipino, Individual) — Deadline: March 01
  • Finals — March 8-10 or 9-11
  • Diorama (Filipino, Group project) — Deadline: March 17
  • Graduation! — March 30

See? We have so much to do, especially me because I’m the one who is making the offline annual (we will still have the hard copy annual).

I just hope we won’t have any JS Prom anymore! It’s just another good way to waste money! I did not enjoy our JS Prom last year.

Oh, I’m still the top three of our class (and our batch)… stalled. I’m so glad that I’m still the top03!

If you’re asking why (sometimes) the default template of WordPress is the active template rather than my other layouts, it’s because WP has some bugs. After some hours after I activated my desired template, the theme reverts to the default layout. I still don’t know the solution for these bug but I think, the creators of WP already know this bug and are already working at it.
