Birthday Bash

chocolate-coffee cupcake with mocha ganache and mascarpone cream Okay, my birthday is more than seven months away and I haven’t attended a birthday party recently but this post is about a party… a party that I want to have. This may sound really absurd to anyone who reads it: I want to have a children’s birthday party! Yeah, lol. I know, it’s weird. As a matter of fact, thinking of it makes me laugh like a person who lost his sanity (or have I lost my sanity already?). But I’m dead serious about this one.

I want to celebrate one of my birthdays in a local branch of McDonald’s or Jollibee where I and my friends can fill our hungry tummies with delicious cheeseburgers, spaghetti, fatty French fries, deep-fried chickens, and sundaes. Of course, there will be party hats in assorted colors, a banner that says “Happy Birthday, Christian!” with Ronald McDonald or Jollibee and their respective friends as its background.

There will also be an emcee who will host parlor games but the games will be uh, adult-ish. Lol. We’ll play an edited version of Trip to Jerusalem. The guys will hold bananas just in front of their pants and these bananas will serve as the “chairs.” The contestants will be either females or gays (to make the game more exciting and funnier). The contestants will circle around the guys sporting bananas in front of their jeans while dancing like a GRO in a far-flung cabaret in the tune of a novelty song composed by Lito Camo (God, how gross is that?). Once the music stops, the contestants will try to grab one of the bananas. The one who will not be able to get a banana is out of the game. The process will go on until a winner will be declared. Okay, I’m exaggerating. Loot bags will be given to the participants. These loot bags will contain but not limited to chocolates and candies.

Of course, there will be a special appearance of a mascot (I really feel sorry to those people wearing those stupid costumes) who will give entertainment to everyone who is in the party. Either Jollibee or Ronald will dance like there’s no tomorrow. And we’ll see if we can make Jollibee dance a folk dance (preferably Pandanggo sa Ilaw) or make Ronald sing.

I’m sure everyone will enjoy the party even though every bit of it is very childish! Haha.

So… will you join my party? Haha. Magpapa-cheeseburger ako!

Yeah. I have a new layout! Woot! It’s been a while since I last used a dark theme. I really like this one. I love its simplicity and the semi-transparent columns. But I’m not sure if this will work with older versions of the effing and the most ridiculous browser to me: IE. Expect to see some minor changes to this new layout in the coming days. A credit is due to this simple CSS trick to make semi-transparents columns and to imjustincognito’s amazing photo that I used as my header.

Desktop Madness

It has been ages since I last did a meme here so I stole this one from Juice. I am really itching to do this meme despite that I have to sit a final exam later this afternoon at 3:00 pm. Oh, don’t worry, it’s just Theology, and really, I don’t have to memorize anything, I only need to read pages and pages of photocopied lectures.

Without any further ado, here it is…

As you can see, my wallpaper is from Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. I’ve been using this wallpaper for months and I’m tired of it. I tried to look for another wallpaper but nothing suited me. On the left side, you can see my desktop icons. I only put two columns of icons on my desktop to make it look neat. On the other side is the Windows Sidebar. I don’t usually use it but I like its functionality and features.

And now, my top five programs.

  1. Adobe Photoshop CS2 I use this program to manipulate my photos and create the images that I use for my layouts.
  2. Yahoo! Messenger Aside from texting, I use Y!M to get connected to my high school classmates. This also serves as my connection to my online friends and present blockmates.
  3. Mozilla Firefox Do I still need to explain what this program does?
  4. Notepad For encoding my layouts. Yes, I’m comfortable using Notepad to encode HTML, CSS and PHP.
  5. Limewire and uTorrent (tie) For downloading mp3 files and other whatnots.

Feel free to steal this meme. I’m now signing off to continue reviewing for my exam later.

My Site and Miss Universe 2007

Asteeg.Net

According to the statistics Google Analytics has complied for me since the 10th of May last year, 50.22% of my visitors are using Mozilla Firefox as their browser and 45.29% are using Microsoft’s Internet Explorer. I expect that in the next couple of years, more Internet Explorer users are going to switch to Firefox. It is more secure than Internet Explorer and there are so many things that you can do with it. As for traffic sources, I was shocked to see that only 24.04% of my visitors visited my site directly, the remaining 75.96% were able to go here from referring sites and search engines.

asteeg

That’s how will be my site would look like when I’ve already fixed the CSS. Um, anybody out there who would want to help me finish it? I’m lazy to fix it. Whenever I start to fix it, I always get frustrated and end up doing other things.

If you’re using Mozilla Firefox or Internet Explorer 7.0, you can now search my site without even visiting it. I created my own add-on. If you want to install and try it, click the button that’ll display your installed search engines on your browser and choose “Add Asteeg.Net”.

Miss Universe 2007

Congratulations to Ms. Japan for winning the crown. There was no suspense at all when they proclaimed Ms. Japan as the winner. That really sucks.

Ms. Philippines, Ana Theresa Licaros bagged the Miss Photogenic award. Okay, how many times did the Philippines got this award? Lol. Congratulations Ms. Licaros!

Oh, the candidate from Korea was beautiful, and did you see Ms. USA slipped?

Meme: Abused Programs

Whoa. I just posted an entry yesterday, and here I am, posting another one. Oh, well, because nothing worth-blogging has happened to me this week, I’m just going to do a meme.

Instructions: Click “Start,” you’ll see there shortcuts to the programs you use most often. Put ‘em here, and give each an explanation. If there are other programs that are listed in your Start Menu, feel free to include them here.

Notes: As far as I know, only Windows XP and Vista have this feature. If you were using Windows XP or Vista but you don’t see a list, right click your Task Bar and select properties. Under the Start Menu tab, select “Start menu” and click OK.

Mozilla Firefox

Do I really have to tell why it is on my Start Menu? You know how Internet Explorer sucks. And this might interest you:

Adobe Photoshop CS2

I think I made a wrong move when I upgraded to this version (from 7.0). There are only a few changes that I have seen.

Notepad

I use this program to create my HTML, CSS, and PHP files.

Winamp

Everybody needs a dose of music everyday, eh?

MS Word

I use this for papers that I need in school.

SmartFTP Client

It says that it isn’t free, but its free trial of 30-days never expire. Lol. I use this for transferring file to the server.

Oh, there is a plugin for Mozilla Firefox called FireFTP. You may want to use it for transferring your files to your server. It is very lite, that means, there are only limited features.

Minesweeper

Hey, I know how to play this game. You don’t just click here and there. You need to use your brains! I love this game because it tickles my mind. My best time for the expert is 234 seconds.

Command Prompt

The reason why this is on the list is because I’ve been pinging my site for the past three months. And did you know you can reformat your diskettes with this program?

Xampp

This is the program that I use to run LAMP (minus the “L”). It’s very helpful for me because I can now squash the bugs in my WP Themes even though I’m not connected to the internet.

PSPad Editor

It’s Notepad with many features. I only use this program when I have to look for a certain line in a PHP file.

Flickr Uploadr

Lately, I’ve been uploading pictures to my Flickr account.

Hearts

Lol. Yeah, I also know how to play this game. It’s very simple. I play this game when I wait to be connected to the internet.

Limewire

Despite that I’m on a dial-up connection, and sharing of mp3 files is illegal, I still use it. Lol. I love Limewire! Thanks to it, supporting piracy is easier! :lol!:

Nero StartSmart

No, I don’t usually burn those music files that I’ve downloaded from the internet. What I transfer into CD-R’s are files other than mp3 and wma.

Wag maging manhid!

I’ll just repost the thing that I posted on my last entry. I still receive useless comments. People are now only blogging and commenting to have more visitors and comments in their sites. It’s not the real purpose of blogging. It was not made to have many comments. And for the first time in my blogging career I have to say: shit kayo! I’m already like a broken record! As what I can see… new bloggers are really tired and lazy to read long entries (and even the short ones). Yung sa inyo naman, useless! Mas masaklap pa yata sa mga pinagcocomment ninyo!

And oh, why there are many new bloggers that are so naive? They’re using WordPress but they don’t know how to edit the layout and such. And to cap it all, they don’t even know simple HTML and CSS. This is stupidity! And many don’t know, WP has its own documentation! It might help you answer your questions. It’s so obvious that people are not reading! In your WP Dashboard, you will see there a link to the documentation of WP and even in the readme file of WP.

Hayan, nagpapatama na talaga ako. Mabasa ninyo sana ito kahit tamad kayong magbasa! At kung mabasa nyo man ito, wag kayong maging manhid! Marami na ang mga nakakapansin, hindi lang ako. I don’t care if you won’t visit my blog and comment here anymore because I don’t really care on reading your useless entries!
