Oh! Look! This is the first episode of Podcasteeg. Well, I still haven’t achieved my preferred accent and my voice really sucks, but I have decided to do this because I want to try it. I had fun doing it.

I used Audacity to and my built-in microphones on my notebook to record this episode. I haven’t used any music because I don’t want to breach any copyright law. Anybody knows where I can download GPL music? And if you have a suggestion on mind, please tell me about it.

Forgive me for the wrong grammars that I have commited, and my awful and horrible voice.

Hello and welcome to the first ever episode of Podcasteeg. This is Christian Evangelista of Asteeg.Net, that’s A-S-T-E-E-G-dot-N-E-T. So, uh, today’s 07.07.07 or July 07, 2007. Lucky day? Uh… no, I don’t think so. Uh, though seven is favorite number, I still don’t think that this is a lucky day. Neither numbers nor dates dictate our luckiness. I still think that it’s still up to you if you would want this day to be lucky or not.

Okay, moving on, uh, well, school is crazier nowadays. Everything is different. As what one of my ex-blockmate had said, if in our first year, it is us who make our selves stressed, now, the sight of our school is enough to make you feel stressed. What’s more is that in two weeks time, ya, two weeks time or 14 days, we will already have our prelims. and that spells B-U-S-Y, and that’s busy! Well, at least, I’m enjoying my English class right now. Uh, currently, we’re on phonetic transcription or whatever you call it. Our professor told us that it is easy, ya, I think it is. But sometimes, it can be a bit confusing, especially if you don’t know how to pronounce words correctly. For example, the words S-T-A-I-R and S-T-A-R-E are supposed to be pronounced the same. That’s stair and stare. Why are you staring at the stair? Likewise, with the words P-E-A-R and P-A-I-R. So that’s pair and pear. She ate a pair of pear. Yes, I know it’s crazy. Our instructor also told us that the word C-O-M-P-I-L-A-T-I-O-N is supposed to be pronounced as compilation and not compilation, again, that’s compilation. Uh, the word T-U-I-T-I-O-N on the other hand, is supposed to be pronounced as tuition.

And now, let’s talk about the Harry Potter fever. On July the 11th, that’s a Wednesday, yes, a Wednesday, the fifth Harry Potter movie, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix will be released in the country. I don’t know if I would be able to watch the movie on the 11th because I’m supposed to be in school until 5pm on that day and my class on the following day will start at 7am. So, there’s only a little possibility that I’ll be able to watch it on that day. Nevertheless, I’m planning to watch it two times on the big screen. Uh, the first time I’ll watch it, I suppose, I’ll be alone, yes, alone because I don’t want to be interrupted with tremendous amount of questions while watching it. And on the last time, I’ll be watching it with my friends or with my family. And on the 21st, the last Harry Potter book entitled harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows will be released. I can’t wait to have it on my hands. I’m getting excited! The problem is that I still haven’t reserved a copy and the book costs around PHP 1500. I guess, I’ll pay for it in cash on the release date. Well, seriously, I don’t have any theory on who will die and who will survive, but I hope Harry would still be alive at the end of the book. This is going to be good July to remember!

A Mind Boggling Week

My mind has gone haywire. Please take that literally. My brain is really malfunctioning these days. I’m sure this is because I was working so hard that I was deprived from getting enough sleep this week.

Monday, I and my groupmates did our portfolio for English, but we were not even able to finish it. I also did my term paper for CF which was due the next day. Tuesday, I finished my reaction paper for Zoology (laboratory) which I passed the following day. Wednesday was the deadliest because I had to finish my book review for Philosophy which was yet again due the very next day. Thursday, I did my reaction paper for Zoology (lecture) which I had to pass yesterday. And not to mention brain twisting tests were given this week. I also had my oral test last Thursday in Philosophy which comprises half of my final examination. Of course, I did not review but my blockmates told me that I did great. They said that my attitude of being mean helped me. Lol.

Because I was thinking so hard about my long test in Zoology (lecture) about the reproductive system, I forgot to bring my reaction paper yesterday. I can’t go back home just to get it because it would take me approximately 1.75 hours and PHP 57.00. Fortunately, we did not have Zoology (laboratory) yesterday. But that time and the rest of the afternoon (as we didn’t also have Chemistry [laboratory]) was intended for doing our baby thesis for Filipino. While doing my work for our thesis, which includes translation of hard-to-translate English words, the acknowledgment part, and other sickening tasks, I rewrite my reaction paper. I was even able to pass it an hour before the deadline.

For five straight hours, we did our thesis. I did most of the typing because I was the fastest typist in our group. One of my groupmates even commented, “Hey, why don’t you accept typing job?” It was already five o’clock when I told my groupmates that live just somewhere near the school that I and five other groupmates still have to travel far to get back home. Yes, I sill have to travel far just to get back home but I went first to the same mall where I get stuck for more than eight hours alone last January, SM Clark. This time, I was still alone. Lol. Whatever.

Now, you may want to know why I went there even though I’m already tired and it’s even our finals starting Monday.

You see, last Monday, my friend lost my mechanical penil, my favorite mech pen. I’ve been using it for almost a whole semester. It’s a Pilot super grip 0.5 mech pen. I really like using pencil rather than a pen. Pencils save me a point or two in no-erasures-tests. But then, pencils are very hassle to use, you need to sharpen it every now and then. That’s why I decided to use mech pen again. So when my favorite mech pen was lost, my old mech pen was back in action. I hate using it because it’s very heavy, not like my favorite mech pen which was lightweight. So yesterday, I went there to buy myself a new one but still the same brand and color like that of the mech pen my friend lost.

I also bought the Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire DVD. I actually watched it yesterday evening and it was the reason why I wasn’t able to publish this yesterday. I really like it. It’s the best Harry Potter movie. And speaking of Harry Potter, I think I need to reread books five and six because on July, the fifth film and the last book would be released almost simultaneously. And oh, I think it’s great to hear the news that the trio (Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint) will also do the last two films.

Okay, how I knew that my mind’s malfunctioning? When I was on my way back home yesterday, the driver of the jeep gave me my change. I thought it was not mine and nobody was getting it so I gave it back to the driver. A few minutes later, I remembered that that change was mine. But then, to save myself from getting embarrassed, I didn’t ask for it anymore.

And if you have not noticed, I’ve been linking to Flickr.com throughout this post. I should say that I’m addicted with it. There are so many interesting photos there. And I badly want a pro account! To anybody out there who wants to give it to me as a gift, please contact me. The free account has many major setbacks.

As for today, I have to finish our website for Computer. Can somebody lend me his or her space? Don’t worry, I won’t take more than 5 MB of your space.

I’m off to read your blogs. Google Reader’s reporting that I have 100+ unread blog entries.

Hate of Wisdom

Let me start this by saying I hate Philosophy. The subject itself… and our instructor (whom I’ll call Mr. Rene in this entry). As what I had put in my mind from the first day that I learned that I am going to take this subject, it will really ruin my career. I am absolutely dreading about this subject. I am frightened that I would get my first line of seven grade after four or five years of having no line of seven mark, worse my very first failed mark. Mr. Rene is very weird; everything about our him is weird. His subject, his face, the way he teaches, the type of question he gives during quizzes, etcetera, etcetera.

Last week, Mr. Rene was already fifteen minutes late. And according to my blockmates, it’s written somewhere that if a professor is already fifteen minutes late that means he or she won’t enter the class. Thinking that he won’t enter our class, as he had already skived our class a few times last year, we decided to go home. But we concluded it wrong, approximately fifteen more minutes later, he texted some of our classmates that he’ll enter our class. Alas, I and my other two classmates were already on a jeepney by that time.

Luckily for some of my blockmates, they were still in school by the time the information was disseminated. Some went back to school from the malls. Another one that already got home and changed her clothes had to wear her uniform again and go back to school.

My classmates reported that after an astounding fifty minutes, he popped from nowhere! The bottom line is that they did nothing! They just chatted! And now, ladies and gentlemen, congratulate me for ditching my class for the very first time!

Well, a philosopher (I forgot the name) said “Change is mere illusion.” And it’s just one of the philosophies of the effing philosophers that I don’t believe. We’re not expected to believe these philosophies, as some1 don’t suit us. What I can say about this is that we have our own philosophies… so why study this boring and hateful subject? Argh!

I don’t really know how that philosopher with a peanut for a brain said that. So he or she thinks that if a thing was moved to another place a change has not occurred? How stupid is that?

From time to time, we — all of us change. Be it physically, socially, emotionally and spiritually.

On a side note, even actors and actresses change! Daniel Radcliffe, the Harry Potter star has decided to play nude2 as Alan in the play Equus after preserving his wholesomeness in the Harry Potter movies. I still can’t believe that he took the offer knowing for a fact that he has not yet reached the legal age.

And as for a change, I decided to use this layout from N. Design Studio. I decided to use this layout because I barely have time to do a new layout. And expect more of these!

Who does not change? Would you please tell me how change is just mere illusion? Raise your voices and fill the comment form with your thoughts before it’s too late.

Teachers effect eternity.

But will you agree with me if I’ll say writers can also effect eternity?

Children hates books. But thanks to JK Rowling, she had convinced many children to read books with the help of Harry Potter. But as what many says (including me), no one can please everybody. I saw some news in the local programs where anti-HP (sad to say, some religions hate HP) burn Harry Potter books. They say HP teaches children (and even grown ups) sorcery and it’s exposing satanism.

Wow! Those people have a brighter and more imaginative brains than JK Rowling! I congratulate them!

I think I’m not violating any rules set by our Lord. As long as we don’t praise Harry Potter, practice sorcery and exposing satanism we’re not out of bounds. Duh! HP is only a fictional character who’s only living behind pages, chapters, books and in the big screens.

After reading the HP Books (even Dan Brown’s the Da Vinci Code and Angels and Demons) I still go to church to listen to the teaching of our savior and the likes.

Next week is going to be Holy Week. If Christmas is the season of giving (and its true meaning is sharing), Lent is the season where we do sacrifices.

I suppose we should not blog, surf the internet nor open our computers next week. Seriously, I will be doing this. I think this is the biggest sacrifice we can make (I’m talking to blog, internet and computer addicts). Come on, this won’t last. I’ll would only take some days or a week and after that you can turn your computers on again.

I don’t care if you’ll call me stupid or say that I’m too religious because you’re the one who’s stupid.

HP GOF International PosterI watched Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire yesterday. I find the movie fantastic, and yeah, I think it’s the best HP movie. What I don’t like is that some scenes and characters from the book were deleted. No Dobby, no Winky, no Bagman, no Bertha, no Mrs. Weasley. There’s also no Quidditch World Cup, I mean the time when they are already playing. In just 15 min time Harry is already at Hogwarts! Well, the filmmakers have no choice but to squeeze a 700 plus book in the 2.5 hour film (credits included). The movie started with Harry’s dream, then Harry woke up at the Borrow, the day of the Qudditch World Cup. I think the filmmakers are hiring actors with very disgusting teeth. Lol. I refer to Madame Maxime and Karkaroff’s teeth. You know what? I don’t like Moody and Krum. It’s not the Krum and Moody that I imagined. On the other hand, I like Rita and Mrytle. They will really make you laugh! The three tasks are in the film but the last task was “edited.” No sphinx, blast ended-skrewts and dementor. But the maze is doing strange things. Lol. Well, I think I should stop spoing the film… sorry, I just really like spoiling like this. Hehe. I’ll watch it again later with my friends!
