My Latest Baguio Adventure

Last week, I was in Baguio with my family. We went there because of my uncle and aunt who came back here in the Philippines after six or seven long years stay at USA1. We stayed there for exactly 24 hours. Hmm… did I enjoy the trip? No, why? It was raining there last week. That was why we can’t go to Burnham Park or even Camp John Hay.

The place where we stayed for the night was big, it was a nice place. Since we can’t go to a park we decided to eat in the place we stayed in.

In the afternoon of Saturday, we went to — um, I’ve already forget how you call that place — somewhere in Baguio to buy pasalubong2. There, I saw the unusual taho vendors3. They also have the strawberry flavored taho but I still haven’t tried it yet.

Then, we went to Baguio Cathedral to hear mass.

And we also went to the air-con-less SM City Baguio.

I tried to look for a good book at National Book Store there, but I haven’t seen any interesting fiction. Actually, I was disappointed, they have fewer titles available there. But I have seen a copy of “Water For Elephants”. So if you live in Baguio and you are looking for a good book, I suggest you buy it. And speaking of books, I have finished “A Long Way Down” by Nick Hornby last Tuesday. I didn’t enjoy the book. Now, I’m reading Khaled Hosseini’s latest book, “A Thousand Splendid Suns.”

The next day, Sunday, I didn’t join my parents to go to the market. I only told them to buy me strawberries. And look at this:

Strawberry

That’s the biggest strawberry that I have ever seen… and ate! And then, we ate lunch in the villa because it was still raining. And that’s all.

It’s not an interesting trip. Oh, I have heard that we’ll be going there again this coming October. I just hope when we will go there again, it will not rain.

I’ve recently updated my WordPress installation to 2.3. There might be some bugs lurking around. If you have seen one, please report them. By next week, I’ll sit my final exams. Wish me luck. Ah, I can’t wait for the sem-break!

  1. But they’re now back in Texas []
  2. gift []
  3. Here in Pampanga, you will only see taho vendors during the morning, and not in the afternoon. []

  2. I wonder how yummy would those BBQs taste if they’re already cooked. :lmao: Missed you! For the past months, I’m just lurking around. Pathetic right?

  4. I swear, this post made me hungry. Barbeques and strawberries are 2 of my most favorite things. Haha. I wanna go to Baguio too :)

  5. :hmm…: This made me miss Baguio. Nice shots, by the way.

I’ll start with the barbecue. I HEART GRILLED STUFF. ‘Yun nga lang I don’t enjoy electric-grilled meat. Hinahanap ko ang char-grilled essence.

Second is the Cathedral. I’ve seen the externals of it but I never entered. Sayang.

Then SM City Baguio. I agree. Not just the bookstore. I didn’t find much treasures there. Pero it’s nice going to places. Ayos lang.

Then lastly the strawberry. Astig naman ‘yan tol. Parang ansarap kainin. Question lang pare, hindi lang ba s’ya “just the size”? Masarap naman ba?

  6. strawberry-flavored taho?! sounds scumptiuos . . :D goodluck with the exams.

  7. Nakaka-miss mag-Baguio! Pinaka-favorite naming tambayan d’yan kapag gabi eh SM kasi overlooking sa buong Baguio tsaka s’yempre madami kainan. Haha. Kainggit. :yay:

  8. Strawberries. Yummy. LOL. Actually, I only get to visit at that place once. Hope I could go back there even just one more time. And look at the barbecues! PAHINGE! *drools*

  9. yay! nakakagutom ang barbecue mo ah. kamusta naman ang bagyo malamig parin ba dyan? I wonder kung ilang temperatura dyan :D

  10. nagtakaw ako sa strawberry!!! ay ang sarap sarap sa paningin

  11. Those barbecues look very delicious. How come taho vendors are only seen in the afternoon in Pampanga? And there’s a strawberry-flavored of it? Neat! LOL to air-con-less SM City. I really wonder how cold Baguio is. I might die there. Haha.

  12. hello there! OMG this reminds me that I need to scout for a cheap house in Baguio that can accomodate 40 people.. this is for our office’s team building kasi ..

By the way, were you behind glass when you took the shot of SM? Parang may drops ng ulan kasi.. hehehehe

  13. I miss Baguio. It’s been years since my last visit there. Sorry it rained while you were there.

Wow, that’s a large luscious strawberry.
