Faulty Schedule
Last Saturday, almost 12 hours of my precious time was wasted because of a faulty schedule. Instead of dedicating most of that time in doing dignityAKO.info, a members only site for my high school classmates, I was in school waiting for nothingness which made me end up spending the rest of that almost 12 hours in the mall.
So let me tell you how my Saturday was ruined by our NSTP instructor.
I was invited in the debut party of one of my high school classmates. No, it was not the elegant type of party where one has to go in a formal attire. The set up was this: go to Fontana Leisure Park at Clark Field, Pampanga and spend an almost sleepless night there. It’s very practical isn’t? The good part was that we had really a great time. A day before that, one or two of my blockmates asked him if we would have classes since the 2nd year nursing students in our university took NAT. Our instructor’s answer was yes.
But during the night before the day this unlucky incident happened, I had a doubt if our professor would stick with his word as he was absent the week before. Yes, you read that right, our teacher is skiving his classes with us! It’s not just my time that will be wasted if I would go to school and find out that he skived us again but also money, effort, and energy! So I did my schedule.
So the next day, after texting all of my blockmates in my phone book without any reply from them if we have classes, I decided to go to school with all the things that I needed during the overnight stay at Fontana. Boom! We did not even see our instructor’s shadow! He was nowhere to be seen. Out of boredom, I and my blockmates decided to play in our room but that’s another story.
After an hour or so, we decided to go as we were dead sure that our professor won’t see us. So I texted all of my high school friends if they were already in SM City Clark even though the meeting time is at 5:00pm (which turned out to be 8:30pm due to the Filipino time). And guess what… one of them decided to play a prank on me! She said that she’s already in the mall. So, I went there — call me stupid if you want. I was texting and texting and texting that person and she was not replying! After thirty minutes of waiting for her to reply while I was looking for a good book at National Bookstore, I ended up with a conclusion that it was a prank. That’s the silliest prank ever played on me. To make matters worse, until now, that person who played a prank on me have not yet replied whatsoever. I’m waiting for her message that says something like “Oh, I’m so sorry for that silly prank. I hope you’re not mad at me.” But it looks like that person has no intention to do so.
At kinarir ko na ang aking pag-iisa.
I ate alone at my favorite fast food, Tokyo Tokyo. I also ended up watching — believe it or not — KKK out of nothing to do.By the time the movie had ended, my classmates were not yet there so I scanned the books at the bookstore again. Luckily, I was able to find a copy of Young Blood3 and the Prestige. I even had the chance to read them before my friends had arrived.
When we arrived at Fontana, I was surprised to see that we were already complete. I suppose, they arrived there with their own wheels or they were fetched earlier as it’s impossible to get to Fontana without your own wheels, unless you have money to get there in a cab. It’s very ironic that I was the first to get into the meeting place and arrive last in the place where we had the party.
So what we did? Basically, we had fun! We even played go fish with some variations. And during the course of playing it, one of my classmates shouted “Punyeta ka! Punyeta ka!” The problem was that there were some older people in the living room by that time so they were shocked, particularly the mother of the debutant. And the rest of us? We were all laughing. Someone even commented “Oi! Wala ka sa dorm!”.
We decided to sleep at around 3:00am. And as the villa was crowded, I had to sleep in a table. Yes, in a table at the living room.
I’m so glad that I was able to spend some time again with my high school classmates. I really missed them so much. Once again, I was able to laugh hard freely. I’m glad that I was able to unleash my stress. Not like now in college, I can’t laugh as how I used to. Laughing now is a chore. I’m hoping that during the vacation somebody will invite me and my high school classmates for an overnight again.
