Big Surprises
Last Sunday, I and my family had another unplanned trip. This time, we went to Subic where we had some fun in the beach. I miss Subic so much, I think it has been seven years since we last went there (and about four years since I last went to a beach). Here are some photos from our recent trip to Subic.
And of course, I want you to meet Snidget.
Yep, that’s Snidget, my brand new notebook. It’s a Compaq Presario V3324TU Notebook PC (click the link to see the specifications).
I got the name Snidget from the book Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them by JK Rowling under the pen name Newt Scamander. It’s a magical creature that can fly fast. Before, the Snidget was used in the game of Quidditch.
As you can have seen in the picture, my laptop’s operating system is Windows Vista, and hey, Vista rocks! I like some of the new features like the sidebar (which can be found in your desktop). I’m not sure if other computers have it, but my notebook has a feature called voice recognition. I can simply say what I want to type! Isn’t that cool?
Now, are you wondering how I got this laptop? My father decided to buy me this notebook so that I’ll stick with the course that I took the previous academic year. I just hope I made the right decision.
Nevertheless, I’m enjoying my brand new laptop. It’s already one day old and I’ve already installed lots of programs that I use like Mozilla Firefox (plus the add-ons and plugins), Yahoo! Messenger, and Xampp.
Argh! I don’t have Microsoft Office! I badly need that application. Now, I’m wondering how much is the license of that application…
Yeah, this is another lame post.

Great pictures Christian, oooh I wanna go the the beach now, especially Subic.
Yummy laptop! You’re actually one of the few people who’s saying good things about Vista, which is good.
But I’m switching to Mac OS soon.

Wahaha. We almost have the same laptop, except that I have a Compaq Presario V6000. The difference isn’t that much, if I were to compare that picture of Snidget to Nodachi (mine). But yes, the voice recognition is cool AND the sidebar (because it keeps me organised somehow). Sadly, we don’t have a wireless router yet so I’m stuck with my good ole PC.

Aww the beach pictures makes me miss the beach in the Phils. Nice laptop. I am still evaluating about the Vista or getting a Mac instead
May 17, 2007 @ 3:04 pm
wow! new laptop. hehe.
hay.. those pictures make me wanna go out of town.
May 17, 2007 @ 4:33 pm
Have you heard about OpenOffice? I think OpenOffice is free to download and similar to Microsoft. I haven’t tried it actually.
May 17, 2007 @ 6:29 pm
wow a new notebook.
I’m jealous! lol. My laptop is 3 years old, I think. I want a new one but I’m “attached” to the one I’m using right now. Oh and Subic is so cool! I went there two or three years ago and it’s a really nice place. Lucky you!
rofl.

haay, namimiss ko na rin ang subic!
May 17, 2007 @ 9:50 pm
Subic! Been there bout five years ago. But, well, I don’t enjoy beacher much.
OMG, any laptop makes me drool. Hay.

Those are nice pictures, I haven’t been to the beach since the summer of 2005 when I was in Barcelona. Not the greatest beaches - I think they were man-made, yuck. I freakin looooove the beach though, and I grew up going to the New Jersey shore on the weekends all summer-long. A benefit of living on a coast
Your laptop is nice. My brother had Vista installed back in late 2004 when it was in beta and it was being called Longhorn - we didn’t like it all that much. I’m sure it’s a lot more pulled together now though, I don’t have it yet.

Pffft. Pffft. Pffft. Pffft. You’ve got a lappie already! ARRRRRRGH! Spoiled brats! I envy you! SQUEEEEEEEEEE!
Anyway, I still can’t believe you are Vista already. I once handled a Vista when I did our video editing and ooober coolness. Everything is fast.
Uh, no. I guess the hardwares are fast, and not Vista. Vista slows everything up.

BTW - I’ve changed my link. es2pido.com. wahihiiii!

PS. I know, I’ve been gone for so long but now I’m back!
May 21, 2007 @ 10:51 am
I want Vista pero mataas kasi requirements niya. My RAM is only 256..ang minimum ng Vista is 512.
Uy, I have MS Office here..2003 nga lang. Hacked version. Hehe
May 21, 2007 @ 1:26 pm

Nice, we have the same laptop! I could say great minds think alike. lol hehe.
May 21, 2007 @ 9:22 pm
Kat: Nodachi’s features are better than Snidget! Well, at least, it’s still a laptop. Lol.
Jeric: Yes, I know OpenSource. I’ve heard about it last year.
Heneroso: Haha! Bakit nga ba? Mahirap kasing maghanap ng program para sa Mac.
Neil: Who told you that I’m spoiled? Hehe…
Tina: Enjoy your day at the beach on Sunday!
Darwin: Aba naman! Cool! Well, I agree with you! Haha!
May 22, 2007 @ 1:33 am

Mine’s called Adia (for now hehe)
May 22, 2007 @ 1:36 am
Nakapunta na rin ako dati sa Subic pero hindi ko na-enjoy ang beaches dun. Kaya sa private pools na lang kami lumangoy-langoy. Haha!
Oh, and congrats on your new laftaf! At least may dagdag friends si Tenac ko. Lolz.
May 22, 2007 @ 7:02 pm
Astig ng laptop ah. I wish I have parents like yours. Tsk.. tsk.. August pa daw ako bibilhan ng laptop kasi yung ate ko muna yung bibilhan next month. Grrr.. But it means, I have more time to research about what I’m going to buy. Haha!

Glad you had a wonderful trip at the beach. Summer is coming to an end soon and it’s great that you had time to go to the beach to enjoy what’s left of the summer.
Wow, congrats on your new laptop.
May 24, 2007 @ 3:39 pm
Yung interface ng presario ko, well it sucks. HAHA. Ngyon ko lang narealize after a year at madami na bago series ng presario ang lumabas. Hmm? (May rule ka ba bawal magtagalog sa website mo? HAHA well, i’m breaking it)
Tapos gusto ko mgbeach! Isama niyo ko… asa pa ako kung magkakaroon kami ng “unplanned” thing. Hayyy it has been ages nung nakaapak ako sa natural sand. =( I’m so desperate this summer, to go to the beach. Beetch naman mhaan!
May 24, 2007 @ 5:09 pm
Shayne: Lol. Wala namang rule na ganun, so you don’t breach anything
.
May 24, 2007 @ 9:40 pm
awww.. nice pics sarap lumangoy.
ang ganda ng weather grabeh
May 25, 2007 @ 12:21 pm
Subic’s site always facinates me. I like Zambalez’s beach better, however. White sand! =3
May 25, 2007 @ 2:19 pm
Euri: Er, diba, nasa Zambales ang Subic?
May 26, 2007 @ 9:50 am
It looks so beautiful there. We don’t have any beaches like that around here. I’d love to visit a place like that sometime.
May 27, 2007 @ 9:51 pm
swimming!!! oohh i wish i had the chance to even be at a swimming pool. nice shots btw.
i also want to have my own laptop soon so i wont be arguing with the people at home dahil lang sa PC.
