The Divine Subjects

Last semester, I compared and contrasted my subjects to foods, this time, I’ll verdict them where they should go. And of course, my subjects are not divine, it was just the title. Lol.

CFE2 - Inferno

Yeah, inferno. I thought I’ll enjoy this subject because learning Theology has a new level in college. Thanks to my boring professor who always forgot to bring something very important in class and basically, she ruined everything! Muchas Gracias!

CHM03a - Paradiso

Memorizing the jargons in this subject was very easy. I thought I’ll have a hard time on memorizing them, but I was wrong. My professor in this subject was very impressive. What she brings when she enters the room were only writing materials. All of the things that she had to teach us were stored in her brain. No wonder why she is a board topnotcher.

And here are some of the comments of my blockmates regarding our professor:

Parang computer si ma’am! Ilang GB kaya ang meron siya sa utak niya? Pa-USB naman ma’am!

And when my professor forgot something…

Ay, navayrus si ma’am!

Lol.

ENG02a - Inferno

I don’t like the subject very much. Yeah, it’s very ironic. My professor does not know how to make the class alive, yeah, it was very boring.

FIL02a - Purgatorio

The subject was very demanding, especially in the last part of the semester when we were required to create a baby thesis. I’m happy though that we did not need to defend it because there was no time to do so.

ICT110 - Purgatorio

I don’t want to comment about this subject. All I can say is that this will be stuck in the purgatory!

NSTP2 - Paradiso

Why paradiso? It’s because of our professor who’s very lazy. The last time we had a meeting was last January. Ang saya!

PE02 - Inferno

I danced in this subject! Heck, I really hate it. Jive was very hard! The good part? Well, our instructor said that for our finals, all we have to do is to attend the PE Day tomorrow.

PHL03 - Inferno

Do I have to tell the reason why I put this subject in hell? Hey, Sophie, have a great time with Satan, hu? And don’t forget to ask him for a date in the most hottest fiery pit of hell with the Mountain of Purgatory in the background… what a nice place to answer Satan with your sweet “yes.” Goodluck, Sophie!

ZOO01 - Purgatorio

This one is supposed to be in hell because of the hellish names, technical terms, and jargons that I had to memorize. But because of our professor in the laboratory, memorizing all of these was easier. As for the lecture part, during the latter part of the semester, I decided to copy what my blockmates were doing. I decided to stop listening from our instructor (we have a different professor in our lecture) and do other important things. Like my blockmates, I depended on the handouts that were given to us.

While I was reviewing just this week in this subject for our finals, I saw a note that I scribbled in the margins of my handouts:

Zoology is poison to my brain that slowly degenerates it.

Of Time and Hostage Drama

NOTE: Around 40% of this post is written in Tagalog.

Last week, when I had my oral defense in Philosophy, I was asked what my philosophy in life is. I remembered what my teacher said, “You can summarize your philosophy in a quote.” So I quickly said that time is very important (instead of time is gold).

My blockmates laughed when I said that. I suppose they laughed because they know that I’m very strict with the time. If it was set that we’ll have a meeting at 10 o’clock, expect me to be in the meeting place thirty minutes before ten. And I end up, most of the time, waiting for around 1.5 hours in the meeting place just so the people that I have to meet to arrive. I’m not the one whom you’ll wait for. In the contrary, I’m the one who waits. But I don’t say that I’m always on time, there are times that I’m late for an event or whatsoever, especially if there are factors that are way beyond my control.

For somebody like me, I can’t afford to lose time. Time is more precious than gold to me. Twenty-four hours is not enough.

I’m just so glad that it’s already our vacation. I’m glad that I have plenty of time to do things that I want to do. I have so many plans for this website, now that I have 1.5 GB of space.

Have you seen the news about the hostage drama here in the Philippines? What a shocker! Thirty-one Twenty-six children and four teachers were held as hostages for almost ten hours! And would you believe that the alleged leader of this hostage drama, Jun Sucat, is the owner of the daycare center where these 31 26 children have been enrolled for a year? It’s very ironic isn’t it? What’s more, his motive for doing this hostage crisis was only that he wanted his students to have support for their education of at and housing for them and their families. To make it more ironic, he said, “I love these kids.”

What I can say is that what he did was wrong. There are so many other ways how he can get what he wants. But making this kids as collateral? That’s way too stupid.

Kaso, Chavit? Bakit siya nandoon?

It was not clear however what SingsonÂ’s connection was with Ducat.

PDI

I’m just glad that this hostage crisis is over — after almost ten hours and no one was badly hurt.

If you want to know more about this breaking news, you may want to go to INQ.net, or even CNN.com, but mind you, the local media, in this case, is more comprehensive.

Off-topic, back in February, I bought a Sun sim. Feel free to ask my number in your comments, and I’ll give you my number via email. I’ve decided to tweak the layout. Photo credit.

A Mind Boggling Week

[EDIT] I’ve just finished this layout. I’m planning to release this layout sometime during my vacation. If you found some bugs or errors, please report them. Btw, the header image that I used for this layout is from Vaughan. [/EDIT]

My mind has gone haywire. Please take that literally. My brain is really malfunctioning these days. I’m sure this is because I was working so hard that I was deprived from getting enough sleep this week.

Monday, I and my groupmates did our portfolio for English, but we were not even able to finish it. I also did my term paper for CF which was due the next day. Tuesday, I finished my reaction paper for Zoology (laboratory) which I passed the following day. Wednesday was the deadliest because I had to finish my book review for Philosophy which was yet again due the very next day. Thursday, I did my reaction paper for Zoology (lecture) which I had to pass yesterday. And not to mention brain twisting tests were given this week. I also had my oral test last Thursday in Philosophy which comprises half of my final examination. Of course, I did not review but my blockmates told me that I did great. They said that my attitude of being mean helped me. Lol.

Because I was thinking so hard about my long test in Zoology (lecture) about the reproductive system, I forgot to bring my reaction paper yesterday. I can’t go back home just to get it because it would take me approximately 1.75 hours and PHP 57.00. Fortunately, we did not have Zoology (laboratory) yesterday. But that time and the rest of the afternoon (as we didn’t also have Chemistry [laboratory]) was intended for doing our baby thesis for Filipino. While doing my work for our thesis, which includes translation of hard-to-translate English words, the acknowledgment part, and other sickening tasks, I rewrite my reaction paper. I was even able to pass it an hour before the deadline.

For five straight hours, we did our thesis. I did most of the typing because I was the fastest typist in our group. One of my groupmates even commented, “Hey, why don’t you accept typing job?” It was already five o’clock when I told my groupmates that live just somewhere near the school that I and five other groupmates still have to travel far to get back home. Yes, I sill have to travel far just to get back home but I went first to the same mall where I get stuck for more than eight hours alone last January, SM Clark. This time, I was still alone. Lol. Whatever.

Now, you may want to know why I went there even though I’m already tired and it’s even our finals starting Monday.

You see, last Monday, my friend lost my mechanical penil, my favorite mech pen. I’ve been using it for almost a whole semester. It’s a Pilot super grip 0.5 mech pen. I really like using pencil rather than a pen. Pencils save me a point or two in no-erasures-tests. But then, pencils are very hassle to use, you need to sharpen it every now and then. That’s why I decided to use mech pen again. So when my favorite mech pen was lost, my old mech pen was back in action. I hate using it because it’s very heavy, not like my favorite mech pen which was lightweight. So yesterday, I went there to buy myself a new one but still the same brand and color like that of the mech pen my friend lost.

I also bought the Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire DVD. I actually watched it yesterday evening and it was the reason why I wasn’t able to publish this yesterday. I really like it. It’s the best Harry Potter movie. And speaking of Harry Potter, I think I need to reread books five and six because on July, the fifth film and the last book would be released almost simultaneously. And oh, I think it’s great to hear the news that the trio (Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint) will also do the last two films.

Okay, how I knew that my mind’s malfunctioning? When I was on my way back home yesterday, the driver of the jeep gave me my change. I thought it was not mine and nobody was getting it so I gave it back to the driver. A few minutes later, I remembered that that change was mine. But then, to save myself from getting embarrassed, I didn’t ask for it anymore.

And if you have not noticed, I’ve been linking to Flickr.com throughout this post. I should say that I’m addicted with it. There are so many interesting photos there. And I badly want a pro account! To anybody out there who wants to give it to me as a gift, please contact me. The free account has many major setbacks.

As for today, I have to finish our website for Computer. Can somebody lend me his or her space? Don’t worry, I won’t take more than 5 MB of your space.

I’m off to read your blogs. Google Reader’s reporting that I have 100+ unread blog entries.

A Stolen Meme

Because it’s been ages since I last posted a meme, and no one is tagging me (lol), I’ve decided to stole this from Shari.

Who is the first blogger you met?
Sadly, no one yet. This is mainly because I’m not a resident of Metro Manila. But I suppose, I’ll be meeting Euri next month. XD

Who is the blogger ‘You Most Want to Meet’?
Who? Well, I suppose it’s KT whom I’ve met (in the internet) last September1 of 2005.

Who is the ‘I can meet, want to meet, but somehow never got to meet’ blogger?
Uh, I think it’s Shari (and all the bloggers who attended the Blog Parteeh last January 27, 2007). I was in a mall near where they held the party. And not to mention those bloggers who have already seen and noticed me whom I still haven’t met until now.

Who are the group of bloggers that you most want to meet?
The creators of the most abused blogging software, WordPress.

Do you have any bloggers/blog readers that you would like to meet right now?
Here they are: Ate Ems, Euri, KT, Mitch, MM, Robbie, Shari, and Talamasca.

  1. Or was it November? []

OpenID Enabled

Now, you don’t need to enter your name, email and URL when commenting here in my site — this is because of OpenID (a Wikipedia article about OpenID is also available). But I’m still testing it, I might change my mind and remove it1.

The first piece of the OpenID framework is authentication — how you prove ownership of a URI. Today, websites require usernames and passwords to login, which means that many people use the same password everywhere. With OpenID Authentication, your username is your URI, and your password (or other credentials) stays safely stored on your OpenID Provider (which you can run yourself, or use a third-party identity provider).

From OpenID.net

It’s annoying that you have to memorize various username and password combinations for different sites that you’ve subscribed to. Thanks to OpenID, now, all you need to memorize is your URI and a single password! That’s it!

There are numerous public OpenID providers that you can choose from. While waiting for the OpenID.ph’s servers to be available, I’m currently using MyOpenID. And oh, WordPress.com also offers OpenID. Now, if you want to know what sites are OpenID enabled, you can click here.

PS: I’ve told you, I love procrastinating! Lol.

  1. I’m using the OpenID Registration plugin for WP []
