Yearend Entry: 2006

I reckon this is my last post for this year as I’m very busy. I have not even finished doing Choice.

Here are the notable things that happen throughout the whole year!

  • I and my classmates had our retreat back in January. The place and food was so great. I really thought I would not enjoy our retreatÂ… and now, IÂ’m still savoring all of the things that we did there. If itÂ’s possible to have a part two (or even a part three) of our retreat, IÂ’ll join! Aww… I’m being nostalgic.
  • On February 04 of this year, a big accident happened here in the Philippines. The Ultra stampede occurred back then. It was the first anniversary of the number one noon time show in the country, Wowowee. Instead of 20 tricycles, some taxi cabs and two million pesos (about $40,000) of prizes at stake. Lives of many people were in danger.
  • I had my first (yeah, first) camping. It was a requirement for graduation. How stupid is that? Nevertheless, I enjoyed it.
  • March means graduation to me. Well, I landed as the first honorable mention of our batch (without exerting too much effort). I was also able to bag other awards. Oh, I’m not bragging about them. Habemus valedictorian! Can’t we have an another conclave?
  • College is a bit freaky. And I hate it. Can’t we just skip college? Haha. IÂ’m still in the “culture shock” mode; IÂ’m having a hard time doing some conversations with my new classmates.
  • The seventh of September marks the death of my grandfather. I miss my grandfather so much. (Please, stop me, I’m getting a bit teary.) I am so glad that I was able to had a grandparent like him. He was so generous to me. I could still remember during my pre-school years that he brings and gets me to school everyday and if there was a new toy available from one of the two biggest fast food chains in the country, he would bring me there and buy me the toy that I like.
  • I had my luckiest day this year back in November when I got PHP 50.00 worth of pre-paid load and PHP 125.00 in cash! My original plan last Friday was that I would only watch the quiz bee so as to support my blockmates and after it, I would go back home.
  • I got a new domain! (I sent e-mail to those people who regularly visit my site about it.)
  • I had my most boring Christmas. As for my birthday, it was not that good but not that bad too.
  • Starting tonight, we are — as how I like to call it — maid-less again.

This time, my favorite entries during the whole year:

Happy 2007 to everyone!

  1. Gawd. You really scanned your entries just to make this one? Haha ^_^
The year hasn’t been that good, I guess. You sure have gone through a lot this year: graduation, college, and (I’m sorry) the death of your grandfather. Still, our evasive tactics have worked and we’re getting out of this year alive.

Advance Happy New Year, Christian! =)

  2. Now, that’s a wrap! :)
This year is a meaningful year for me. Well, dahil Senior High School ~ I enjoyed my last year in High School doing the worsts. Yeah, worst attendance! [laging late]. And marami na rin akong firsts for this year.

Wow, natatandaan mo pa pala yung ULTRA Stampede. February pala nangyari yun? Ambilis ng panahon ha.

And, wait - what’s with the hosting? Ako? You’d host my blog?? [Shocked.] Hehe. Happi nu yir!

Christian: Thanks to my archives at natandaan ko pa kung kelan nangyari ang Ultra stampede. Yung natatandaan ko lang this year nangyari yun. So are you interested? I’ll email you later.

  3. Hey, belated happy birthday! (I chanced upon the date while I was reading the about you section of your site.

I lost my grandfather too way back in february *during the wowowee tragedy* and Im still coping up until now. That’s because Im really close to my maternal grandparents.
We have the same situation too when I entered college :lolz: , its like stepping into a new world wherein you will have to adapt to everyone and to everything.

and I also read this I couldnt agree more, It was very well said, im a fan of HP and I have all 6 books, lahat yata sila nabasa ko na ng 5 times each and I never get tired of reading even though there are minimal illustrations. I love how my imagination works whenever I read the book! Cool! And I also am not a fan of the ”just pretty but without substance” site. Gaaah! I hate it when they talk about something whick is really uhm “nothing”, dont you agree? Im not a malalim person but Im not the type wherein people will read my blog and then their eyes will suddenly roll because of the too much stupidity and kababawan of my entries.

Ack, my comment was a bit long na yata. Happy new year! and I hope you’d also inform me of your new site.
Christian: Ooohh… I love looooong comments. It’s been a while since I got a long comment. So if you have more to say… go on! Lol. Thanks! Don’t worry, I’ll let you know my new link in due time.

  4. Happy New Year Christian! :) I’m gonna link you soon okay.

Well that was a total wrap-up of your 2006 and it made me learn more things about you. Like being the class valedictorian, that’s amazing. I’m sorry about your Lolo, I too, was extremely close to him and was totally sad when he passed away 5 years ago. Life must go on, but we know they are watching over us.

Christian: No, no. I wasn’t the valedictorian. :)

  5. what a very productive 2006 for you… have a fruitful and blessed new year christian…

  6. Got your URl thru Talamasca and I’ve been a regular visitor ever since. I was just so interested how you hosted your site since I was like html/php illiterate, and I only oriented myself about the anik-anik of the blogosphere…

Yes, 2006 has been notable to be. I have so many memories… memories that has changed my life for the following years…

especially the Graduation heckling incident… where I was involved… and has greatly affected my political will and affiliation…

Geez… have a Happy New Year!

Christian: Now I know how you got my link.

  7. Aahhh yes… a recap of your whole year. That made me think about what happened to me this year. There were a lot of things for me… I kind of liked 2005 better. I just hope 2007 will be good to me *crosses fingers*.

College? Freaky? I can’t wait to graduate from High School and get to college! Hell, I’ll skip the fourth quarter and go right to college… if only that was actually possible. Bleh :P

  8. Peace in your heart
    Warmth in your soul
    Contentment in your life
    Joy in your home
May you always be blessed with these priceless treasures!
Happy New Year to you and your family!

  9. Happy New Year!

You remember all those things. We’re in the same year level. I’m in enternal hang over or something. The only thing creepy in college is me, I think I’m scaring away some people.

  10. Your luckiest day! That’s probably the most momentous part of your year! Hehehe.

Have a great year ahead, yo!

  11. Thanks for sharing the highlights of 2006, both happy and sad moments. Wishing you a meaningful and promising year.

  12. Belated Happy Birthday Christian!
