Road Signs
“Two roads diverge in a yellow wood
And sorry I could not travel both”
These are the first two lines from the poem “The Road Not Taken” written by the famous American poet, Robert Frost.
Yes, it is hard to decide which road to be taken even there are only two choices. But what if on your way, you met a fork that has three, four, five or more prongs to choose from? For sure, things will be more complicated since there are too many choices to consider; you canÂ’t just take a road without thinking. It might be the road that will change your life forever thatÂ’ll make you regret in the end.
We make decisions anytime, anywhere. Actually, we make decisions everyday. Sometimes we choose the wrong pathÂ… I know, some of us tend to go back and start allover again but sad to say, many of us forget that we can still go back and start again from the beginning to mend the things that we had messed. Even though we meet dead ends here and there we should not lose our hope.
If there are decisions that we cans still change, there are also roads that are difficult to escape from, as if you entered a labyrinth and can’t find the exit no matter what you do or you’re on a one way road that’ll not let you go back. These are the things that you can’t change forever. This occurs especially if you took shortcuts and dark alleys while taking the right path. As what they say, “Laging nasa huli ang pagsisisi.” We will only regret it once we’re running out of gas, once we are already lost.
I hope there are stop signs or slow down signs in the wrong roads so we can think twice and that they are not one way so if we choose to change our decision we can take a u-turn easily.
There are also times that while we are taking the right path we have to take detours and such. These detours are contrast to shortcuts – these will make our lives harder… a longcut if I may say. No matter how rocky or steep the road you took maybe and if you know that you’re on the right track, do not back out! Why choose one of those shortcuts if they will make your future disastrous?
Graduation is very near, I hope each and everyone of us will choose the right path. For now we should part ways, but in the end, I know, we will meet again… in the Finish Line.
PS: I think this one will be published in our official school publication. I still have to pass this article to our moderator. Do you like it… eh? The post below is very sensitive. If you want to know the password, just leave a message on your comments and I will give it to you.And oh, the post title has nothing to do with its contents…

Speaking of roads, have you considered tackling the Yellow Brick Road?

Dude… “decisions never rely on what is right or wrong, only what you want to do.”
Hope that helps.

It’s never wise to regret decisions you make..Kaya nga may tawag na paninindigan eh..And humbleness..Dahil kahit gaano kamali ang desisyon mo, may natututunan ka dun diba?
I liked the article..Sabi ko nga, I do believe in destiny, but it is I who make it (and the Lord, of course).
I’d like to read your last entry, if you don’t mind giving me the password. OK lang kung ayaw mo :p

yup, we are always faced into decisions, and all I want to say is that we should be responsible enough, and strong enough to face the consequences…

That poem is one of my favorite. I remember, we have discussed it way back in HS on our English subject. That poem even helped me decide on what course to take in college. Haha! There are two roads, one grassy at palaging dinadaanan kasi parang safe sya, the other one parang scary, madilim, at walang ngaattempt na dumaan. Well, go figure.
Like what Robbie said, some decisions rely on what our hearts really desire.. not because it’s the safest route to take. Sometimes, that’s where regrets stem from; if we decide without first hearing what our hearts have to say. Then whatever are the consequences of our actions, we must accept it responsibly. I particularly like the last 3 sentences, “Two roads diverged in a wood, and I- I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference.”

I always make bad choices but I hope I won’t for what I’m going to do for a living, I’ve been lazy and not thinking about it. I can’t wait to graduate

off-topic! first of all, I would like to say sorry for not visiting your site for the past few days.
I love that poem by Robert Frost! Pag nagkaroon ako ng time gagawa ako ng line by line analysis nung poem…
As usual, I like the article you wrote. It draws the attention of all those students who are graduating this year. It’s good to know that you still continue to write. I have given up writing a few months ago. And that is something I would really like to change.
I agree that we tend to choose the wrong paths. However, life does not end because of our mistakes. It only ends when we stop right at the middle and tell yourself that it is enough. This is one of the reasons of why I hate the word “contentment”.
IMHO, there’s nothing wrong in abandoning a road that we haven’t finished tracking. Who knows? The road we are currently taking just goes on and on and will never cross another road. Sometimes it’s hard to take a road which is meant to be parallel to others. You will never achieve anything, if you don’t take the risks, diba?
Uhmm, Louie, if you don’t mind, I’d like to read your previous entry. That is, if you don’t mind. Thank you!
P.S. I don’t really know if this comment is relevant to your post. Eto kasi yung pumasok sa isip ko nung nabasa ko yung post mo. Kung wala man tong connection sa post mo, inform me na lang ha!

Wow! That’s inspiring man.
Oo nga, we can’t travel both roads of life. It’s either we make the right decision, or make the wrong one, and suffer later.

Well this should really be published~! What a nice way to say to all graduates…fufufu~!

I still remember learning this poem in my Literature class when I was in 7th Grade. It’s one of my most favorite poems, which I learned from school because it talks about not only about making choices in life, but which choices to make which will benefit us
This is very well written, I think you should submit it. Perfect for end of schoolyear thing you know? Like you said, graduation.
