Publicity
Have you heard Alyssa Alano’s “Keys Me”? I heard about this in the news ages ago but I was only able to see and hear the video (with lyrics) last Monday. If you have not seen it, here is the video (brought to you by YouTube):
Actually, the title of the song should be “Kiss Me”. The rendition of Alyssa Alano was a very bad one. It has full of wrong pronunciations which makes it funny. In one way or another, because of this, people from other countries will have the notion that we don’t know how to pronounce correctly. But I admit that; Filipinos are not good at pronunciation! Please, don’t be offended. This is just my observation and opinion.
What more if you’ll add the accent?
I don’t know if this “Keys Me” is just a publicity stunt or if she does not really know how to pronounce words like beneath (v-neat), shoes (shoez) and fireflies (parflays) correctly. Mind you, if it is supposed to be a publicity stunt, it’s good for her! She became (somehow) famous because of this hillarious video.
Publicity stunt or not, it’s really hillarious. And this one also proves that Filipinos can still laugh in the midst of many problems. So keys me! Lol!

I don’t know. I don’t appreciate her. I don’t even give her a minute of my attention. It’s me. I’m just really masungit with things like that, lol. Well, some Filipinos do have trouble pronouncing English words. And that fake accent? *sighs* But we have to give ourselves credit when a few years back, we Filipinos ranked 3rd in the world’s most fluent English-speaking countries. Nice, eh? But that’s a long time ago na, haha.

Oi, I can pronouce words well.. depende sa place ata.. having grown up here in Baguio, wala naman ako nung tinatawag na “regional defects”. Kaya culture shock ako nung nagcollege ako, karamihan kasi may regional accent. Nakakatawa sila magpronounce… Hehe..

Who is she? Haven’t seen or heard of her song yet. Boldstar ba sya? Hay that type of songs really irritate me. Is that music? Talagang hindi. I don’t understand why they bother recording that kind of songs.

When I first watched her video, I laughed real hard. I mean, she tried to sing using the American accent, and she dismally failed, which is dismally funny (um, pardon the oxymoron).

Oh, Alyssa Alano’s lipsync performance? Saw her singing live and OMG I was freakin’ laughing hard in SM.
HAd watched the telecast, too, and my mom woke up because of my voice. She’s one hell of a comedienne.
In spite of our insults, she remains to be calm and innocent. She’s very nice in person btw for those who have not seen her in the flesh.

nakaka-awa nga siya eh pero sarili niyang diskarte na magmukang tanga para sumikat. anyway isang way din un para mapansin ng mga tao. tignan mo gustong gusto na niya ang kasikatan niya! pero hindi ko siya sinusuportahan so manigas siya. natatawa lang ako sa kanya at minsan naasar din. hahahahaha! (galit na galit ba ako???) hehe wala lang. un ung opinion ko about her. sayang ganda pa naman sana niya.

Filipinos are not good English speakers? That’s some lame generalization you got there, boy. Ask yourself: Why the hell is the call center business blooming nowadays? Look around. You might be appalled by the number of Pinoys who can talk the talk. :confused:

Alyssa Alano is pathetic. hahaha. her version of kiss me is a total disaster! i really think it’s just a publicity stunt. palibhasa, stupid looking/acting people are in demand in showbiz. patok kasi sa mga pinoy. well, not all. marami lang talagang tumatangkilik sa kanila (e.g. yachan, sandara, sugar, etc.) hehehe. oh well.

actually, she is a comedienne. an up-and-coming one, anyway, and this was supposedly her claim to fame. she was mocking these wannabe singers, or something to that effect.
pretty funny, though, considering a whole nation thought she was doing it for real.
