Also yes, black and white are not colors, black is the presence of all colors (there's a concentration) while white is the absence of all colors sa spectrum. White is what the basic color pigments create when put together, which are.. cyan, yellow, green. As for the sentence, I don't think it is even a proper sentence. If you see color as pigment, then black is the presence of all clors and white is the absence of all. If you see color as light then it's the other way around. I think what your teacher meant by that sentence was that the speaker's way of behavior or his artificiality is rarely misunderstood. Not sure about the sentence construction though.
